How do I input this system into the graphing calculator

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-12-04] [Hit: ]
x/-If you have more than 2 variables, you cant plot the system on a 2 dimensional graph... you just cant.So,......
{3p-q+2r=26
q=4p-20
3p=2r

I need to get like the terms aligned before putting it into the calculator, but how do I do that?
Please help! x/

If you have more than 2 variables, you can't plot the system on a 2 dimensional graph... you just can't. So, I'm sorry to say, you'll have to do at least a rudimentary amount of work :(

Luckily, I am here to help!

So anyways, you can solve this by eliminating multiple times.

You can get rid of the q by adding 1 and 2.

You get:
3p +2r = 4p +6

Now you can subtract 3p from each side to get 2r = p + 6

From here, you can solve this with a graphing calculator, but that's the hard(er) way because you have to simplify each equation for one variable (p or q), but if you have to, You get:

r = (1/2)p + 3
r = (3/2)p

Then just find the interception (you get in terms of (p, r))
Then plug your p's and r's into the first equation (3p - q + 2r = 26), to get q
