(60 x g)/2 = vertical force of 294N. on each half of the wire.(0.4/20) = 0.02. Thats the sine of the angle formed.......
The famous tightrope walker, Tanya Toomuch, balances precariously in the middle of a 20m long wire. As she stands there, the wire deflects a distance of 40cm. If Tanya's mass is 60kg, find the tension in the wire.

40cm. = 0.4m.
(60 x g)/2 = vertical force of 294N. on each half of the wire.
(0.4/20) = 0.02. That's the sine of the angle formed.
(294/0.02) = T of 14,700N. (that's dividing force V by sine of angle).
