99.999% of the time you would die of exposure.

Once you're dead and your body has been in the ocean for a good while, you could very well be eaten by a shark, or any amount of other animals.

Shark attacks are very rare.

It depends on where you were exactly in which ocean. Most sharks don't hang out in the middle of the oceans, they hang out near coral reefs, beaches, whale and fish migration routes, and probably near commerical fishing routes and possibly cruise routes, because these areas would be the most likely sources of food. You will die without fresh water in 3 days in perfect circumstances, faster if you are injured and try to drink seawater and are sunburned. If you are bleeding, the chances that you might attract a shark are a little better, but while sharks can smell blood for miles, you have to be within a certain number of miles of the shark for them to pick you up. Nobody has exact odds on this, but the chances that you WON'T be eaten by a shark before you die are greater than that you will.

Like the other posts i too say that exposure will get you before and organism will. However, your chances of being mobbed by a school of hungry bait fish is higher than running into a hungry shark. In my opinion i would rather be attacked by the shark. At least i would die rather quickly. Bait fish can swarm you like a school of piranhas and death would be longer and more agonizing. although most bait fish don't have scissor like teeth they are as relentless as a colony of ants.

You would more likely become sunburned, exhausted, dehydrated, delusional and drink ocean water and kill your kidneys with all that salt, then fall into unconsciousness then sink to your death. then the sharks might get a bite or two but not sure about that.
