What is the Amazon River Dolphin

The Amazon River dolphin is a freshwater river dolphin commonly found in river systems of Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Venezuela, and Colombia. These dolphins are generally not very large (in terms of dolphin size) - 5 to 7.9 feet long - and they are either light pink or light gray in color. These cetaceans were listed as a vulnerable species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature in 2011 due to overfishing, pollution, habitat loss, and boat traffic, but this status was changed to data deficient because of a current lack of information about ecology, threats, and population numbers/trends.
