What are the bugs that fly around light poles at night called

so they do look like snowflake a bit.-Just bugs I guess. Have to catch one then find a website that shows all the known bugs on earth.-June bugs,......
There are a million of them by the lake in our neigborhood, there were so many it was like it was snowing outside.

There are many types of bugs that do this, among them moths (including millers (which is hilarious, for me)), mosquitoes, and beetles (June bugs).

Those are moths. They are attracted to the light because of the heat (moths don't generate enough of their own). They'll usually gray-white colored, so they do look like snowflake a bit.
