How deep is it to the earths core

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-12-30] [Hit: ]
the deeper you go, the hotter it gets. Its something like one degree per 80 to 100 feet deeper. If you fell in a hole that went all the way to the center of the Earth (and lava didnt come up the hole), youd cook to death long before you reached the center of the Earth, about 4 thousand miles down.......
at what point does it begin to get really hot underground

is it even possible to go down there?

did you think the movie the core was chessy?

I recall that the top couple hundred feet of soil and rock is the average of all the local temperatures - day and night and all the seasons. Below that, the deeper you go, the hotter it gets. It's something like one degree per 80 to 100 feet deeper. If you fell in a hole that went all the way to the center of the Earth (and lava didn't come up the hole), you'd cook to death long before you reached the center of the Earth, about 4 thousand miles down.

People have tried to drill down to get to the Earth's mantle to investigate the possibility of getting geothermal heat energy, but no one has reached the mantle. They've only gotten 7 or 8 miles down, or something like that.
