General Math Problem? How Many Paperclips are in a jar with...

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-10-17] [Hit: ]
08(1.27) = 6.number of paperclips = 7500/6.number of paperclips = 1162.Therefore, 1162 paperclips could fit in the jar.......
There are these two hints:

The jar is: 7.5 litre capacity
Length and width of 1 paperclip: 2 x 0.5 inches

How many paperclips could possibly by in this jar, please explain!

-
7.5 L = 7500 mL = 7500 cm^3 (volume of jar)

2 inches = 5.08 cm
0.5 inches = 1.27 cm

5.08(1.27) = 6.45 cm^3 (volume of 1 paperclip)

number of paperclips = volume of jar / volume per paperclip
number of paperclips = 7500/6.45
number of paperclips = 1162.5

Therefore, 1162 paperclips could fit in the jar.
