What colour is the moon

If you ever go to a volcanic island look at the black sand on the beach.

It is almost the same as moon dirt (lunar regolith) the same dark grey colour as charcoal

When you see the moon in the sky, it appears to be a whitish gray color. In actuality, the color of the moon's surface is similar to asphalt. It looks lighter to us because there is a high contrast between its relatively bright surface and the blackness of space in the background.
