Why do we find more M type stars than B type stars

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 13-05-04] [Hit: ]
because they dont last very long, and in part because fewer are made because the amount of material available is usually limited.......
Is it because hot high mass stars have a shorter lifetime or because they are simply harder to make? Or do hotter stars just form at far distances from us?

Thank you!! :)

It's a little of both; larger stars are rarer - in part, because they don't last very long, and in part because fewer are "made" because the amount of material available is usually limited.
