if 1 particular X chromosome is inactivated in embryonic development, will the same x chromosome be inactivated in the rest of the cell in the body will have the same x chromosome inactivated?

so basically i know that if that same x chromosome in embryo development is inactivated, the rest of progeny cells with follow suit. but how many embryo cells are there. if >1 then different x chromosome may be inactivated thus different cells in body will have different x chromosome

Lyonization (X inactivation) occurs very early in development of placental mammals, which results in "patches" of active/deactivated X chromosomes. This is because a cell produces daughter cells with the same inactivated X. This is most easily observed in calico cats, which have patches of color. Simply put, if X inactivation occurred at the 2-cell stage, the cat would be half one color and half another color.

Random X inactivation occurs in the early female embryo, where both the maternal and the paternal X chromosome have an equal chance of becoming inactivated . Each female cell has the difficult task of trying to distinguish between two X chromosomes within the same nucleus, then designating one as an active X chromosome and the other as an inactive X. This complex process of silencing is accomplished independently in each cell, largely by XIST and TSIX.
