Hello,

A mixture is a combination of two or more substances that can be physically separated - a quick example would be a salad where you can pick apart the things in it, or a solution, where you can evaporate out the liquid and filter out the rest of it from the solid.

A pure substance, however, is made of one element or compound. Metals such as iron, copper, and gold are pure substances. They are only made of their respective elements. Water is also a pure substance - it is only made of H2O molecules.

A mixture often consists of pure substances mixed together, if that helps some more.

A mixture is a physical mix of 2 or more different types matter without chemically combining them, like orange juice.
A pure substance is a substance that consists of only 1 type of matter.
