How many moles of carbon are there in 275 mg? I have the right answer, but my significant figures isn't right

01 g/mol = 0.0229 moles or 2.29 x 10^-2-You should have three significant figures because 275 has three.So the answer is 0.......
First, I tried:
0.23 MOL - SIGNIFICANT FIGURES WRONG
0.2 MOL SIGNIFICANT FIGURES WRONG
-----
Can you explain why?

275 x 1/1000 x 1/12 = 0.23 That's how I did it, which is correct. But significant figures is wrong? I don't get why?

There are only 3 sig figs in 275 so your answer can only have 3 sig figs.

275 mg = 0.275 g

moles = moles / Molar mass

0.275 moles / 12.01 g/mol = 0.0229 moles or 2.29 x 10^-2

You should have three significant figures because 275 has three. So the answer is 0.230
