I just tried a little, it didn't fizz or anything, will it cause some sort of damage to the carpet? I forget what I learned about this in elementary school

If the vinegar is still there, the baking soda will cancel it out. If not, then the effects of putting baking soda on a clean carpet will occur (IDK what that does btw)
