What is the real power consumed by the motor?
a. 280w
b. 380w
c. 480w
d. 580w
e. 680w

Thank you for your time, its greatly appreciated TY!!!

The real power or the true power consumed is current * voltage = 5 *120 = 600 W

Since the power factor is 0.8 ,only 0.8 of the 600 W will be useful power and 0.2 of 600 W will be wasted as heat power .

Thus useful power is 480 W and real power consumed is 600 W.

The question is confusing the terms .

Power=.8*5*120=480 watts.
