M=13; (-2,Use the point - slope formula y - y1 = m(x - x1) where m = 13, x1 = - 2,Subtract 1 to both sides.where m = 13 = slope, y - intercept = b = 25: (0,......
Please help me thx!
OK i have a question about the slope equation which is y=mx+b im having really much trouble with these stupid questions, im suppose to figure out what is b in the slope equation!!!!Ill give you guys an example :
m=-1; (0, -2)
-2=-1(0)+b
y=-1x+-2
y=x-2
If its wrong sorry but please help me!!
here are the questions:
M=2; (-3, 4)
M=13; (-2, -1)
m=2/3; (-6, 4)
m=-5/3; (-3, 0)

Thx! please just dont tell me the answers can you please explain how to do it?

M=2; (-3, 4)

Use the point - slope formula where y - y1 = m( x- x1 ) where x1 = - 3, y1 = 4, m = 2

y - 4 = 2(x - (-3) )

y - 4 = 2 (x + 3)

y - 4 = 2x + 6

y = 2x + 10 ---------------> ANSWER in slope - intercept form y = mx + b

where m = slope = 2, and y - intercept = b = 10: (0, 10)

M=13; (-2, -1)

Use the point - slope formula y - y1 = m(x - x1) where m = 13, x1 = - 2, y1 = - 1

y - (-1) = 13(x - (-2) )

y + 1 = 13(x + 2)

y + 1 = 13x + 26

Subtract 1 to both sides.

y = 13x + 25 -----------> ANSWER in slope - intercept form y = mx+b

where m = 13 = slope, y - intercept = b = 25: (0, 25)

m=2/3; (-6, 4)

Point - slope formula y - y1 = m(x - x1) where m = 2/3, x1 = - 6, y1 = 4

y - 4 = (2/3) * (x - (-6) )

y - 4 = (2/3) * (x + 6)

y - 4 = (2/3)x + 4

Add 4 to both sides.

y = (2/3)x + 8 ---------> ANSWER in slope - intercept form y = mx+b

where m = slope = (2/3), y - intercept = b = 8: (0, 8)

m=-5/3; (-3, 0)

Use the point - slope formula y - y1 = m(x - x1)

where m = - 5/3, x1 = - 3, and y1 = 0

y - 0 = (- 5/3) * (x - (-3) )

y = (- 5/3 ) * (x + 3)

y = (- 5 / 3) x - 5 ----------> ANSWER in slope - intercept form y = mx+b

where m = - 5 / 3 = slope, y - intercept = b = - 5: (0, - 5)

m=-1; (0, -2)

Use the point - slope formula y - y1 = m(x - x1)

where m = - 1, x1 = 0, y1 = - 2

y - (-2) = - 1(x - 0)

y + 2 = - x

Subtract 2 to both sides.

y = - x - 2 ----------------> ANSWER in slope - intercept form y = mx+b

where m = slope = - 1, y - intercept = b = - 2: (0, - 2)

-2=-1(0)+b
y=-1x+-2
y=x-2 ******************************YOUR ANSWER IS INCORRECT! YOU ARE GIVEN SLOPE M = - 1 AND YOUR RESULT ENDS UP WITH THE SLOPE M = +1. THAT IS NOT RIGHT!
