Which is the biggest: -1 or -5/3

I know it's simple yet I think I have a mistake in my notes and now im confused. Thanks in advance.

-1 = -1
-5/3 = -1.6
-1 is bigger since it is a negative and its closer to 0

-1is biggest

-1 is bigger 'cos -5/3 = -1 2/3 if there were no minuses 5/3 would be bigger

The biggest is -1
The smallest is -5/3

of course the biggest of them is -1

-5/3 bc it isn't a whole number. :)
