I'm trying to teach myself some calculus this summer so I will be prepared for the course in the fall. I've taken pre-calculus, and I need a book which will be easy to learn from.

I took AP Calculus BC. It is very difficult to self study math and teachers explaining the lesson really help. (For example, trying to catch up on a lesson because you were absent is a very difficult task).

However, my school used Calculus Single Variables: Early Transcendentals

Thomas' Calculus has been around for 50 years, and is constantly being improved by its younger co-authors.
The two volume set by Tom Apostol is also awesome, to some a bit challenging, though.

-
Swokowski, Calculus of a Single Variable, Second Edition.

One of the best math texts I've ever used.

-
a Barron's book is a good choice
