Cosa=63/96=21/32=0.A=cos inverse of 0.......
a^2=b^2+c^2-(2bcxcosA)
7^2=8^2+6^2-(2x6x8xcosA)

can someone finish it from there please...
I managed to get it down to 96cosA=63 and had no clue how to finish it.

96 cos A = 63 is NOT correct...show your work to learn your mistake !

96 cos A = 51 is the correct equation from your data...

cos A = (51/96)

A = arccos (51/96)

get out your calculator...

A ≈ 57.91º

show your work...

-
49 = 64 + 36 - 96cosA

=> 96cosA = 64 + 36 - 49 = 51

So, cosA = 51/96

=> A = invcos(51/96) = 57.9 degrees
