What kind of math is this crap

Wailana and Pulama are standing 50 yards apart. They each take turns walking half of the distance left. In 10 turns how many yards has joan walked??

This isn't math. Its a word play game. There is no answer because we don't know who "joan" is.

On the first turn, one person will walk 25 feet. The next person will walk 12.5 feet, then 6.25 and so forth. You have to find the 10th number in this pattern.
