-6x +5y=1
6x+4y=-10

i need to know what x and y is. these two equations are with the same problem.

Just add the equations to get

9y=-9 so y=-1

Substitute y=-1 into either equation and solve for x,

6x + 4(-1) = -10
6x -4 = -10
6x = -6
x = -1

Ans: x=-1, y=-1

-6x + 5y = 1
6x +4y= -10
(add these two equations the 6x cancels with -6x and get:)
9y= -9
divide both sides by 9 to isolate y and get:
y= -1
plug in -1 for y into any of the two equations to find x I picked the first one:
-6x +5(-1) =1
-6x - 5=1
(add 5 and get)
-6x =6
divide by -6 and get:
x= -1

therefore

x and y = -1

y=-1
x=-1
