Find the median for the data given. Number of steaks serve 6,9,18,28,32,43,50

They have three numbers above them and three numbers below them.(53/2) = 26.With a larger number of numbers and several ties in the middle you use the same logic........
How did you find the answer.? Thanks

28

If you have an odd number of numbers, it's the number that has as many numbers less than it as more than it. If there are more than one number in the middle it gets a little harder . Your is easy.

6
9
18

28

32
43
50

Three are lower and three are higher. 28 is the middle one.

If it has been:

6
9
18
18
32
43
50

you do this

6
9

18
18
32

43
50

and average the middle three. 18 + 18 + 32 = 68. (68/3) = 22 (2/3)

and the median is 22.667

You do the same thing with an even number of numbers

6
9
18

25
28

32
43
50

I added a number so that there are eight numbers. You take the middle two. They have three numbers above them and three numbers below them.

25 + 28 = 53

(53/2) = 26.5

With a larger number of numbers and several ties in the middle you use the same logic.
