I have 2 different answers. Am I really wrong? Thanks for the help!I hoped that helped. Remember: Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally (Parentheses, Exponents,......
I worked out this problem on the wordpad:
24 ÷ 1/2 + 5/8 x 6/7

I wound up with the answer 351/28.

I wanted to check my answer on a calculator to see if I was right, and 1359/28 came up. So, now, I have 2 different answers. Am I really wrong? Thanks for the help!

-
24/ (1/2) + (5/8)(6/7)

=48 + (15/28)

=1359/28

I hoped that helped. Remember: Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally (Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, and Subtraction) Multiplication and division are interchangeable. So is addition and subtraction. You have to do those by whichever comes first while you're reading it from left to right.

I typed it into my calculator and also got 351/28, so your first solution is correct.

-
24/1 / 1/2 + 5/8* 6/7

24/1 / 1/2+ 15/28

24*2=48+13/28= 48 15/28= 1359/ 28
