(3+2i)/(1-4i) in a+bi form

multiply by 1 or 1+4i/1+4i

(3+2i)(1+4i)/[(1-4i)(1+4i)]

=3+12i+2i-8/[1-4i+4i+16]

=-5/17+14i/17

you have to foil it but remember ixi =-1
so after foiling it you get 3x1=3
3x-4i=-12i
2ix1=2i
2ix-4i=-8x-1 so 2 negatives equal a positive so it ends up being 8
combine like terms you end up with 11-10i
