Applying "real life applications" to dividing mixed fractions for 6th grade math

The examples below aint much help, but they are the best I can do.......
Ok, so I am a mom of a 6th grader who is doing a power point presentation on subject learned in math. His subject is dividing fractions. He also has to come up with a "real life application" for his equation. He has to create the equation too. One of them needs to have a mixed number. This mom cannot figure out a way to apply a "real life" application to dividing mixed number fractions by a fraction. And on top of it, he can't use a pizza or pie as an example. I really need help! So if there's anyone with any ideas we would so appreciate the help. Thanks so much!

Your problem with finding a "use" for dividing by a fraction is that it is never done. dividing by a fraction is tantamount to multiplying by the inverse. Hence, if you cook half a recipe, you can divide by 1/2, but it is far more common to simply multiply by 2. (which you are doing anyway)

For wot it's werth, I suspect the sixth grade teacher doesn't know this. The examples below ain't much help, but they are the best I can do.

a half gallons of milk split between 3 kids

cut a four and a half foot board into thirds

cook a half of a recipe

cut an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper into 4 equal pieces
