Write an equation of the line that passes through the given
point and is parallel to the given line.
(18, 2), 3y=x-12
show or explain steps please!!

First solve 3y=x-12 and get y=1/3x-4

Now parallel lines have the same slope so we know the slope is 1/3 so the equation must be y=1/3x+something

We also know the point so we put them in the equation 2=1/3(18)+ something so now graph it.
