I think it can but most people in the religion Q&A think that it cannot and give biased information. What do people in the science thread think? State factual information not biased statements or even theories.

Can science prove "religion", as a general concept, false -- no. Religion as a whole is a phenomenon which relies on faith and emotion, as well as untestable metaphysics. You can't test the supernatural, almost by definition, because there is no way to design an experiment which would ever disprove something like "God just wants it that way" or "it happens because the ancestral spirits are angry." And you can't "disprove" emotion and faith -- people feel what they feel, and you can't tell them they don't feel it; that's not a claim you could legitimately make.

HOWEVER: when a religion makes positive statement about the physical universe, whether this is "the world was created in 7 days, 6,000 years ago", or "all species were created in their current forms", or "there is a giant serpent at the bottom of the ocean which creates earthquakes when it moves" -- these statements can be tested, evidence can be applied, and there, the ideas which are part of a religion can certainly be disproven.

Why did you choose best asker so quickly.. I was just getting my game on.

First.. not every religious person believes this timeline.http://teachinghearts.org/dre0…

Why not? because modern calendars were developed... recently.. and they don't all agree.

and during the "creation" of the earth.. however that happened. people weren't even around to say.. 1 year = x # days... So many religious people interpret those "days" in Genesis.. to mean "millenia". or better yet.. "eons". If you read it Genesis like that.. you'll see that science and religion
