In two years,C= 3B+4 ,5B=10,So Carol is 10 years old.-Well set this up as an algebra problem. Let c = Carols age and b = brothers age.......
This is a math problem, I'm pretty stupid so im confused.

Carol is five times as old as her brother. She will be three times as old as her brother in two years. How old is Carol now?

-
Let C= Carol's age
B= brother's age
Now, Carol's age should be 5B
In two years, Carol will be C+2 and the brother is B+2
C+2 = 3B+6
C= 3B+4 , so
3B+4 = 5B
4=2B
B=2
5B=10, and 5B= Carol's age
So Carol is 10 years old.

We'll set this up as an algebra problem. Let c = Carol's age and b = brother's age. Then we have a system of equations. The first equation is pretty obvious: c = 5b, expressing that Carol is five times as old as her brother. For the second equation, we have c + 5 = 3(b + 5), expressing that Carol's age in five years (c + 5) will be three times her brother's age in five years: 3(b + 5). So we solve the system of equations:

c = 5b
c + 5 = 3(b + 5)

Substituting in 5b for c in the second equation:

5b + 5 = 3(b + 5)
5b + 5 = 3b + 15
2b + 5 = 15
2b = 10
b = 5
c = 5 * 5 = 25

So Carol is 25 now, and her brother is 5. You can check that the answer is correct by substituting these values into both equations and verifying that they are true.

Cheers!

P.S. You're not stupid, you just need practice! :)

Never say you're stupid, it's not true...

This will be a system of equations:
"Carol is five times as old as her brother"
C = 5 * B
"In two years (C + 2 and B + 2) she will be three times as old as her brother":
C + 2 = 3 * B

{C = 5B
{C + 2 = 3(B + 2)

we already have C in terms of B, so we just need to replace and solve:
C + 2 = 3(B + 2)
5B + 2 = 3B + 6
2B + 2 = 6
2B = 4
B = 2

So her brother is now 2 years old, which means Carol is 10.

-
C=carols age
B=her brothers age

C=5B
C+2=3(B+2)

Substitute and solve:
5B+2=3B+6
2B=4
B=2 years

C=5B
C=5(2)
C=10 years

-
C for Carol
B for brother

C=5B and C+2=3(B+2)
5B+2=3B+6
5B-3B=6-2
2B=4
B=2

therefore, C=5*2=10
she is 10 years old

Carol is five times as old as her brother. Take note of the "now" part. ;}
