Alright so the denominator of 4 is 1. To easily do this problem, change the denominator. If you change the bottom you have to change the numerator, as well.
4/1 - 2/7
turns into
28/7-2/7
26/7

4 = 8/2 = 28/7

28/7 - 2/7 = 26/7 = 3 5/7 ANSWER

4 - 2/7
= 28/7 - 2/7
= 26 / 7

Answer: 26/7 or 3 5/7

4 minus 2/7 is 28/7

= 4/1 – 2/7 ---------- LCM 7
= (4 × 7)/7 – (2× 1)/7
