x=180 +y
x=180-t-w

How does y=t+w

I don't understand how t+w would equal y? I mean wouldn't it have to be x or something?

Look at these two equations as:

x=180 + y
x=180 + (-1)(t+w)

and you'll quickly see you have an error in the problem.

Substitute the first equation into the second equation.

You've been told x in two differrent ways.

x = 180 +y = 180 - t- w

Subtract 180 from both sides....you get y = - t - w...which is not what you said.

they both answer the same thing so.......

180 +y = 180 -t -w

y = -t -w
