How will you do this?x = mL of 2.(2) 0.05x + 0y = 0.(2) x = 0.025(10) / 0.......
The vet is using thiopentone to anaesthetize a patient. She has asked you to prepare 10 mL of a 2.5% thiopentone solution from the existing 5% solution. How will you do this? (give the amount of thiopentone solution and the amount of water for injection)

supposing you can't see the answer without calculation
let
x = mL of 2.5% solution
y = mL of water (0% solution)
so
(1) x + y = 10
(2) 0.05x + 0y = 0.025(10)

(2) x = 0.025(10) / 0.05
     x = 5 mL

and so y = 5 mL
