How do you solve for X? 6x=5x+5

i know how to solve for x when it's something like 5+x=15. but how do i solve for x when it's on both sides?

show me step by step please. i know the answer to that equation is x=5.

i tried getting x alone on 1 side but it keeps just going back and forth never ending.

Subtract 5x from both sides. Then it'll be x=5.

There are two ways to solve this:

1) Common sense: Think about it - 6x is one 'x' more than 5x. According to your equation 6x is also 5 more than 5x. Therefore x = 5.

2) Algebra: Subtract 5x from both sides:
6x - 5x = 5x + 5 - 5x
x = 5
So x = 5.

what you do to one side you have to do to the other. so:
6x = 5x + 5
6x - (5x) = 5x - (5x) + 5
1x (or just x) = 5

1st you take 5x and subtracted from 6x which will leave you 1x =5 then u divide 1 on both sides and the answer is x=5

Subtract 5x from both sides:

X = 5

x = 5.
