You forgot that per cent means to divide by 100.2)No. The integers 100 thru 499 work. 500 doubled is 1000, the answer is 400.3) The median is the one in the middle.......
a)1/2p
B) 50/p
C) 2p
D) 500p
E) p/2

i got B , is this correct?

2. How many integers greater than 99 when doubled, will yield a 3 digit integer?
A) 900
B) 600
C) 500
D) 400
E) 100
i got 500 as the asnwers, correct?

3. a list consists of 25 positive numbers. a new list of 25 numbers is formed by doubling each number of the original list. if m is the median of the original list and k is the median of the new list, which of the following must be true?

a) k=2m
B) m=2k
C) k=m+2
D) k=m^2
E) k=25m
i don't get this..

3. in a group of men and women, 12 are lefthanded , 10 are women, 8 are lefthanded women and 7 are right handed men. How many people are in the group?

1). No, it is a. You forgot that "per cent" means to divide by 100.
2)No. The integers 100 thru 499 work. 500 doubled is 1000, the answer is 400.

3) The median is the one in the middle. Consider the similar problem with only three numbers, 2,3,and 4. The median is 3. Double each number. You get 4, 6, and 8. The median is 6. 6 = 2*3. I am going to say a is the answer.

4) draw a Venn diagram. You know, the interlocking circles. You need two circles that intersect. Label one of them "right" and the other one "left". Now dear two more circles. One of them intersects both right and left, but not the other circle. Label it "men". Draw the fourth circle so that intersects both right and left, but not "men"

There are 8 left handed women, so put an 8 in the intersection of women and men - NOT in the part that is in right.

You have 10 total women, so put a 2 in the intersection of right and women - NOT in the left.

There are 12 total left handlers, so put a 4 in the intersection of left and men - NOT in the right.
