Between which 2 consecutive whole nos. does 2000^.5 lies

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 13-02-24] [Hit: ]
45^2= 2025,44^2=1936 and there it is-Well, 2000^(0.5) = 44.......
i think it should be between 20 and 21..but the answer is 44 and 45
can anyone please explain why??

-
2000^0.5 = √2000
= √(5·400)
= 20√5
= 20(2.236...)
= 44.72, which is between 44 and 45.

-
2000^.5 means 2000^(1/2) which means sqrt(2000). The square root of 2000 is between 44 and 45, you can check this with a calculator. Alternatively, you can guess. This is how i would do it:

10^2 = 100
20^=400
30^2=900
40^=1600
50^2=2500, too high
45^2= 2025, almost there
44^2=1936 and there it is

-
Well, 2000^(0.5) = 44.72
