What would the a, b, and c values be in the quadratic function

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 13-02-28] [Hit: ]
In this problem,Its easy to identify them because there are numbers before the x terms but i dont know how to solve the first one, can someone please help?Thanks!-a = 1, b = 7,......
y=x^2+7x
what are the a, b, and c values? Is a=x or a=1? what about b?

In this problem, 5x^2-10x+3
a=5 b=-10 c=3
It's easy to identify them because there are numbers before the x terms but i don't know how to solve the first one, can someone please help?

Thanks!

a = 1, b = 7, c = 0

If there is nothing before the variable, the coefficient is 1, if only a negative sign the coefficient is -1.

First, write the equation in the form x^2 + 7x - y = 0, Then:
"a" is always the coefficient (number in front) of the squared term. In this case, it is 1, which is usually omitted ... if there isn't one, the coefficient is 1, so a = 1.
"b" is always the coefficient of the linear term ("x" in this case). so b = 7.
"c" is always the constant term. In this case, the c = -y.
