B)6789.5
C)5678.5
D)6737.5

-
Base of prism is a triangle with base = 55 in and altitude = 7 in
Area of base = 1/2 * 55 in * 7 in = 192.5 sq in

Prism has height = h
h² + 12² = 37²
h² = 1369 − 144 = 1225
h = 35

Volume = Base area * height = 192.5 sq in * 35 in = 6737.5 cubic in

-
Mathmom got the 35 from the square root of 1225,

ANS: D) (=6737.5)

volume of the oblique triangular prism:
V = (1/2)abh where a = 7 in; b = 55 in and h = 37 in

V = 1/2 * 7 * 55 * 35 = 6737.5 cu in <= ANS
