What should I do... Mild overdose

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-12-23] [Hit: ]
If I did the calculations right, I had 3000 mg of SOMETHING in me all at one time. Since then my stomach has been hurting and Ive been nauseous and shaking... And sweating a lot (being really hot).......
Yesterday I took 7 pills throughout the course of 8-9 hours. I've been feeling really sick since. The following is a sort of timeline of events of when the medicine was taken.

Around 6:30 am: 2 Equate Acetaminophen (red bottle) pills. I believe it was 500 mg in each, so 1000 mg all together.
Around 12:30 pm: 2 Pamprin (blue box) pills (I took them for headache, not menstrual pain, they were in my lunchbox at school). Again I believe it was 500 mg each, so 1000 mg all together.
Around 2:30 or 3 pm: 3 Equate Acetaminophen (green bottle) pills. Once again, I think it was 500 mg each,
1000 all together.

If I did the calculations right, I had 3000 mg of SOMETHING in me all at one time. Since then my stomach has been hurting and I've been nauseous and shaking... And sweating a lot (being really hot). I don't know if it's because of the medicine or if I'm coming down with something. What should I do?

(I'm a female, age 13, 5'4" and around 90-95 lbs, by the way).

7 -500mg acetaminophen equals 3,500mg in 8-9hours. That's a large dose for a very small female. Acetaminophen overdose can cause acute liver failure, and is the number one cause og liver failure in the US. If I were YOU I would first call poison control at 1-800-222-1222 and they'll give you a quick answer. Next, you should see a Doctor soon since you did take so much acetaminophen, and you may also be coming down with a virus or the like. Really can't say. But, do what poison control recommends, first. Being 13, you need to talk to your parent(s)! The MAXIMUM daily (as in 24 hours ) dose of acetaminophen is 3,000 mg. That's 1,000mg every 8 hours maximum. That's ADULT dosage! A LOT of over the counter medicines contains acetaminophen, as well as many prescription painkillers also contain it. You MUST read every medicine label, or ask a pharmacist if not sure, to check if it contains acetaminophen before taking it, and taking other medicines at or close to the same time. Also, as young as you still are, and as lightweight as you are, you really first need to check with a parent when taking medicine, and you really shouldn't be taking maximum doses! Those maximum doses are meant for an average size male, or female adult! And, if you're having that much headache pain, or other pain, you really should be seen by your Doctor! Take care! Good luck!

you should be fine, drink water and relax. If you aren't feeling better by morning, its definitely not from the pills
