Events leading to the conduction of a nerve impulse

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-04-26] [Hit: ]
1) Sodium channels in a local region of the membrane open.6) Sodium ions diffuse inward, causing the membrane to depolarize.5) Potassium channels in the membrane open at about the same time.7) Potassium ions diffuse outward, causing the membrane to repolarize (back to initial charge).......
In what order is the correct sequence?

1) Sodium Channels in a local region of the membrane open
2) Some Potassium channels remain open causing hyperpolarizing
3) Threshold stimulus is received
4) Wave of action potentials travels the length of the nerve fiber as a nerve impulse
5) potassium channels in the membrane open
6) Sodium ions diffuse inwrd, depolarizing the membrane
7) Potassium ions diffuse outward, repolarizing the membrane

The correct order is as follows, but I have left the numbering the same to make it easier to see:

3) Threshold stimulus is received.
1) Sodium channels in a local region of the membrane open.
6) Sodium ions diffuse inward, causing the membrane to depolarize.
5) Potassium channels in the membrane open at about the same time.
7) Potassium ions diffuse outward, causing the membrane to repolarize (back to initial charge).
2) Some Potassium channels remain open causing hyperpolarizing.
4) Wave of action potentials travels the length of the nerve fiber as a nerve impulse.
