Newton verses Einstein, which was the greater intellect

I know they lived in different time periods so very difficult to say.

But I would have to say Newton as he invented a new math (calculus) to proceed with his physics, verses Einstein who needed help from his friends with math. Specifically he would not have been able to formulate the general relativity without Riemann's metric tensor that was already there for him for 60 years.

Newton.
Physicist, astronomer, mathematician. Invented calculus.
Discovered something from physics no one had ever thought of before.

Einstein.
physicist.
Changed something that was already known.

And Newton didnt have a hand in the gravity-bomb

You didnt ask who was the better person. You asked who was more intelligent

Newton for sure, but I don't think I would have liked him much.

He was a religious zealot, and sent many people to their deaths according to history.

Einstein was a teddy bear.
