I know they lived in different time periods so very difficult to say.
But I would have to say Newton as he invented a new math (calculus) to proceed with his physics, verses Einstein who needed help from his friends with math. Specifically he would not have been able to formulate the general relativity without Riemann's metric tensor that was already there for him for 60 years.
