What will be better to take to the moon, a spring clock or a pendulum clock

Simple Harmonic motion question.Look up the force equations for an ideal spring and an idea pendulum. You should notice something about them that ought to make a distinction between which clock mechanism would be more suitable for personal use whilst traveling between places such as the earth and the moon.In reality, no one would bother taking a mechanical clock to the moon when there are more accurate mechanisms (crystal or electronic resonators) that arent as bulky, or even to project a radio signal to the moon which carries a timing signal - BUT the question isnt asking you this,......
What will be better to take to the moon, a spring clock or a pendulum clock? I also don't seem to understand what it would be better for exactly, keeping up with the same time as in earth?

Simple Harmonic motion question.

Look up the force equations for an ideal spring and an idea pendulum.

You should notice something about them that ought to make a distinction between which clock mechanism would be more suitable for personal use whilst traveling between places such as the earth and the moon.

In reality, no one would bother taking a mechanical clock to the moon when there are more accurate mechanisms (crystal or electronic resonators) that aren't as bulky, or even to project a radio signal to the moon which carries a timing signal - BUT the question isn't asking you this, it's asking you to think about some of the assumptions you make on a daily basis regarding practical applications of the mechanics you're learning in class.

Depends on your goal.

Spring clock is simplest as it will work fine as is. But most spring clocks are not very accurate, the exception being a good marine chronograph.

A pendulum will work, but it would have to have the gears changed and be calibrated as the pendulum will move a lot slower on the moon.

spring........ think of the difference in the pull of gravity on the pendulum
