Find the centripetal acceleration of a dust particle on the edge of a vinyl record, 0.3m in diameter, rotation at 33.3 rev/min.

frequency f = 33.3 rev/min = 33.3 rev / 60 s = 0.555 rev /s ;

angular velocity ω = 2πf = 1.11 π rad /s ;

radius r = 0.3 / 2 = 0.15 m ;

the centripetal acceleration a = r·ω² = 0.15 * 1.11² * π²= 0.184815π² m/s² = 1.824 m/s²
