if you use R = 8.Try PV = nRT where n is the number of moles you found in the first part and R = 0.......
A cylinder with a cross-sectional area of 0.05 m2 is sealed with a moveable piston. Initially, the cylinder has a volume of 20 liters and is filled with an ideal gas at a temperature of 22 C and a pressure of 1 atm.

1) Find the number of molecules in the gas.
N =4.977E23

molecules
2) The piston is compressed to a volume of 4 liters and the pressure rises to 4 atm. Find the new temperature of the gas.
Tf = Need help figuring this one out<-- T=PV/ kn, T=4*4/(4.977E23)(0.082) but i keep getting the wrong number. what am i doing wrong?

The ideal gas law has several versions depending what constant you use

if you use R = 8.31 your numbers have to be in pascals and cubic meters

Try PV = nRT where n is the number of moles you found in the first part and R = 0.0821 L atm/mol K (make sure when you did part 1 your temperature was in K)
