oikoσ say: Not quite. Utah ranges from the cold alpine NE to the very warm SW. St George advertises itself as "Where the sun goes to spend the winter."

Mamawidsom say: They aren't technically subarctic because they are well below that both climactically and geographically. Thee states actually have a variety of climate zones/ecosystems that include dessert, grassland, alpine, and montane. All of these states have warm to hot summers (in the 80s-100's) and cold winters with snow.
