i'm doing a bio lab and need to know. if you know, how many are in the front and how many are in the back? i can't tell from the pictures. thanks! sources would be great.

Cardinals have four toes on each foot, three pointing forward and one pointing back.

They're passerines so they have 4 on each foot, two in front and two in back, so they're very good at hanging onto a perch.

Birds dont have toes, they have claws. That is unless you are talking about Catholic Cardinals in which case they have 10 toes.
