Do ants die if you cut them in half

since they dont have a closed blood vessel system. It pumps blood (again, not what they have, but a visual) which helps to circulate internal fluids. If you cut an ant perfectly in half, youre going to sever that tube down the middle,......
like not head to tail but top but like the head and the back?
cause i did it and it survived for a little or so i think and it kept running lol?

Ants have a tube that runs down their "spine" (they don't have a spine, but it's where a spine would be, to give you a visual). This tube acts as a heart, since they don't have a closed blood vessel system. It pumps "blood" (again, not what they have, but a visual) which helps to circulate internal fluids.

If you cut an ant perfectly in half, you're going to sever that tube down the middle, and it won't be able to pump correctly. This will eventually kill the ant.
