Do animals feel pain?Im considering being a vegan.......

Do animals feel pain?
I'm considering being a vegan.
-------------------------------------------------------

answers:
REAL say: Certainly .Just look around and you will notice that they feel hunger, thirst, pain and pleasure including sexual pleasure, fear and other emotions like you and me
-
Emily Rose say: Yeah they're living beings just like us
-
Live Wire say: of course...
-
Misty say: Yes they do.
-
Daisy say: Of course animals feel pain. But animals killed for human consumption are killed, by law, in the most humane manner possible.

Animals killed in the fields by farm equipment during the planting and harvesting of the grains, veggies, fruits that vegans eat are not protected by laws. They are mashed, crippled, their nests destroyed. Then there are the rodents and birds deliberately poisoned to keep them out of grain storage bins so you can have your morning toast.

Don't for a second think the vegan diet is a bloodless diet. Simply not true.

VeggieTart -- Let's Go Caps! say: Of course they do! Non-human animals (remember, we're animals too!) have nervous systems and the same capacity for love, joy, sorrow, fear, etc. If you have a pet, think of their reaction when you get home from work. My cat goes to one of her scratchers and enthusiastically scratches at it when I get home from work. I figure that's her way of saying hello.
-
Vela say: Of course they do
-
Murzy say: animals feel pain
-
Tansoloyo say: Yes, stupid. Animals feel pain.
-
Big Papi Smurf say: yes, they do feel pain. every animal does.
-
maya say: Yes. Of course
-
Abdul Malik Ishak say: Yes, as all living things.
-
Beautiful Bird say: Yes. Animals are capable of perceiving pain.
-
Karen say: Do you feel pain? Of course they feel pain. You're considering becoming a vegan, good luck with that, I couldn't give up meat.
-
Thorn say: Yes, and some scientists think they may feel more than we do since they rely on it more for survival
-
Alvaro say: yes, they do
-
Zapata say: Not sure. Let me try hitting my neighbour's cat with a baseball bat and I'll find out for you.
-
John say: Do you go to yoga?

Living things including plants have a go-towards and a go-away-from behavior binary. There are 5 chemical emotions but endless feelings you can think about them. When you stab a duck it feels a sensation that inspires it to go away from your knife. Like in yoga, there's no judgement. It doesn't think about what being stabbed means and the insurance costs or how to stop the bleeding and if an artery was hit, etc etc. They don't have those higher functions as far as we know.

Its a bit relative so to speak. Do you feel pain or are whining because you don't wanna help move furniture because it's a stupid pants? The feeling is likely stimulated on the nerve but to what degree they think about it the way we do is likely minimal. Plants release chemicals to tell other plants to protect themselves when they are being eaten. Is that pain they way you would describe it or not?
-
Todd say: There are people that have a disease and don't feel pain. They usually die before the age of 16, because they don't realize when they hurt themselves. Answer: yes animals feel pain for survival. Veganism has nothing to do with it.
-
Hi_Satan say: If youve ever stood accidentally on your pet's tail, then you'll hear them yelp or yowl
The good news is, that when you're eating an animal, they are already dead.

Did you know that science has now proven that plants also feel pain?

With your logic, what are you going to eat next? Sunlight?
-
drake say: That’s kind of like asking if other humans feel pain? Just because you’re not them doesn’t mean they don’t feel pain.
-
Janet say: Of course they do.
They also feel emotion, just as keenly as we do. They just don't have words.
-
Mikey say: They have the same nerves... Of course they feel everything as we do. I can say, even more, most animals have the tails they feel except for humans...
-
rahul say: Yes, Animals can feel the pain. Don't Hurt Animals.
-
Louis say: yes. and more important, livestock production causes a huge amount of suffering.
And that suffering can be reduced by not eating animals.
Go Vegan!
-
say: you're an animal, can you experience pain?
-
Never Polled say: Amimals snd vegetables have been shown to exibit pain.
-
ckngbbbls say: yes they do, when you beat them, when they have babies, when they get hurt accidentally.
If you are thinking about when they are killed...keep in mind how many times you hear about a death of a human and the medical field says, they never knew what hit them. thats how food animals are slaughtered..A swift bolt to the brain and its all over.
-
Jake No Chat say: Yes animals feel pain. There is no doubt about that.
