Wiill the alignment of all the planets in the solar system have an effect on earth

..-There isnt any such alignment happening in December 2012.You can determine this for yourself by downloading the free program Celestia. That program has all the orbit characteristics of the planets and you can use it to look forward and backward in time as the planets move around the Sun.It isnt a time machine but is instead a model of the movements of planets and their moons.......
It is said that in december, all the planets will align to form like... One straight line.
Will this have any effects on earth? Will we be able to some planets with the naked eye? Will communications be disrupted, like internet failure or black outs and stuff like that?
Just wondering...

There isn't any such alignment happening in December 2012. You can determine this for yourself by downloading the free program Celestia. That program has all the orbit characteristics of the planets and you can use it to look forward and backward in time as the planets move around the Sun. It isn't a time machine but is instead a model of the movements of planets and their moons.

I used it to look for alignments for a bit and found that in February of 2027, Jupiter, Mars, Earth, Mercury, and the Sun will be fairly well aligned in a line. At that time, Venus, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are nowhere near that line. In January, 2080, Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus will be on one side of the Sun and the Earth and Neptune will be on the opposite side of the Sun, making a vague line. Mars, Venus, and Mercury are not close to that line.

Good luck finding better alignments! The above ones are only vague alignments. You could search through billions of years and never find any perfect alignments of even a few planets.

These alignments make no difference anyway. Compared to the tidal force of the Moon on the tides of Earth, the tidal effect of the Sun is 46% that of the Moon. Among the planets, Venus has the largest effect on the Earth's tides and its effect is 113/10000 of one percent of the Sun's tidal effect.

The Moon pulls the tides, but compared to the Earth pulling you, you can't even feel the Moon's gravity pulling on you. So, alignments of planets means nothing. It's fun to think about and fun to look for alignments with Celestia or some other computer program, but that's about it.

It's interesting that this isn't sa
