What is the ultimate fate of the Earth? Will it eventually be a lifeless, featureless rock

The Earth will become a lifeless planet when the sun becomes a red giant that will swallow Mercury and Venus. Earth's oceans would have been evaporated and Earth's inhabitants could've travelled to a different planet or died out. So yes the Earth will eventually become a lifeless, featureless floating rock in space.

There is one key factor which makes life possible on Earth - a liquid core. Our core is slowly cooling. The heat it has is left over from its creation and that is slowly slipping away. Once our core is a cool solid our magnetic fields will vanish. When that happens the solar wind will blow directly on our planet. Radiation levels at the surface will skyrocket and our atmosphere will slowly erode away. At that point Earth will look a lot like Mars - a cold, basically airless piece of rock. This is still billions of years in the future, but will happen long before the sun goes red giant on us.

Humanity, has domesticated Earth long enough. Earth is not ours. It never was, but man came to conquer it. And it's fighting around this world could make it end. Have you seen the things that are happening today? Some of these things, were nevertheless meant to happen. But it would cause the evolution to cease.Earth may become a lifeless rock, but unfortunately, it keeps on going.

in the current understanding of "deep time" the Universe may be 14 Billion years old, the solar system 5 billion, life on earth 1 billion, human 1/3 of one million and modern society only 100 or so

the sun may last 5-10 ? billion MORE years
by then humans will be extinct or long gone to the stars

I always thought that it will eventually be pulled into a collision with the sun. The sun will eventually expand into a supernova won't it?
