Solve the system? Help Please

x - 4y = 8
x - 3y = 6

By substitution

x = 4y + 8

4y + 8 - 3y = 6

y + 8 = 6

y = -2

x = 4(-2) + 8

x = 0

By elimination:

x - 4y = 8
-x + 3y = -6

-y = 2

y = -2

x - 4(-2) = 8

x + 8 = 8

x = 0

You are going to have a hard time understanding this, cause I don't study Maths in English... Sorry :P

Well, one way to solve it is to find a way to simplify it... You need to somehow narrow it down to {x - 4y = 8 and x - 3y = 6} I can't really explain this in English 'cause I studied it in a completely different language. The answer should be y = -2 and x = 0.

x/8 - y/2 = 1
x/3 - y = 2

x - 4y = 8
x - 3y = 6

y = -2
x = 0
