pfft, seriously do not fall for this bull. The world has supposed to ended over 100 TIMES in the past. Yes the world will end one day, not everything lives forever. Will a calendar or anyone predict it? No. This joke has gone way to far seriously, people are thinking about committing due to fear. The world was meant to end back on May 21st as well, and then the world was meant to go up in flames on the 21st of October. If you went up to any Mayan person and about their calendar and the world ending, they would have no idea what your talking about. My advice, just live your life and do not worry about these silly things. Things such as the "Doomsday" has caused people to spend THOUSANDS of dollars on things just as "how to survive 2012," and survival kits.

I know that even after people telling you that it will not end, you will still fear a little when it comes to the day, but seriously you have NOTHING to worry about.

Obviously the end of the world is a stretch. However, it never hurts to be prepared for a disaster, whether it be an economic collapse, a natural disaster, or any number of other things.

You must be new around here! This question or variations of it has been asked about a million times! The answer, from those who can be bothered to answer it any more, is always the same. December 21 is essential to fill the gap between December 20 and December 22. Otherwise, there will be no discernible difference between it and any other day at this time of the year.

Yes, we need it to keep the 20th and the 22nd apart.

Why is this end of the world different from all the others?

The solar system passing through a "photon belt" near Alcyone? Good story, but photons do not form belts, Alcyone is moving away from us and it was all supposed to happen about 1958.
