Biochemistry question: why is it so hard to lose fat if it is so easy to gain

giving you that nice slim look. However, once you consume more fat, these cells fill back up, and more are created. That is why it is so easy for a person to gain once he or she has lost it.......
I know that it is hard to lose fat because your body wants to maintain what it is used to (homeostasis) so why is it so easy to gain fat then? Wouldnt your body be able to process a lot of the excess (to a certain degree) because of homeostasis? (im sorry if any of my reasoning is wrong, i just started biochemistry in high school and ive just been wondering about this)

When you consume fat, it creates new fat cells, also known at adipose cells. Once created these cells never go away. When you lose weight, you are essentially "starving" your fat cells.
The fat leaves the cells and the sells shrink, giving you that nice slim look. However, once you consume more fat, these cells fill back up, and more are created. That is why it is so easy for a person to gain once he or she has lost it. In order to keep the fat off, a good weekly exercise programs needs to take place, along with a healthy diet. ( So you will keep those fat cells "starving")

Because the fat cells are always going to be there, even if you do lose some fat. They accumulate over time and because you have to burn double the calories that you eat to lose a pound of fat, it's difficult to lose the fat. And yes your body does not really want you to lose fat (even though you want to) because of homeostasis and it wants your body to survive at all times, so it packs on the fat.

Ummm....................a body in motion tends to stay in motion a body at rest tends to STAY at rest. All the rest is math.............................Really.… over to my house and I will show you what a work out is all about; or make me afraid and I will show you what JHP ( jacketed hollow point) is all about!

your body actually burns energy when breaking up fat into atp and other energy sources where as when fat (glycogen) is being formed it doesnt take as much energy to make as glycogens bonds are easier made than destroyed :D

It's not easy to gain fat for everybody...lol I couldn't gain weight if my life depended on it
